Two concrete mixer trucks destroyed in early morning fire

Two concrete mixer trucks were destroyed in an early morning fire at a concrete mixing plant on U.S. Highway 80.

 

A passerby on U.S. Highway 80 reported the fire just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the Lattimore Materials Company (LMC) which is located on the north service road of U.S. Highway 80 just west of Farm-to-Market (FM) 460. Upon arrival of the Forney Fire Department, two concrete mixer trucks were fully engulfed in flames. 

 

The fire damage was contained to the engine bay and passenger compartment of both trucks and was extinguished just after 2:20 a.m. A third truck sustained fire minor damage.

 

The Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
